Hailuo 2.3, the latest and most artistically capable AI video model of Hailuo AI, has arrived, and it's got quite a few exciting surprises up its sleeve.
Building upon the popular Hailuo 2 model, this new release introduces several new developments that push the boundaries of cinematic and e-commerce product storytelling. To be more specific, its core improvements revolve around:
- Scaled Micro-Expressions: Captures subtle facial cues like smirking and blinking with more detail for greater emotional impact
- Improved Motion Capture: More natural and believable subject movements that accurately adhere to real-world physics
- Greater Style Control: Adapts to a wider range of artistic styles with even greater visual fidelity and realism than before.
- Upgraded Product Showcasing: Facilitates more lifelike e-commerce product positioning with better depth of field and camera viewing.
If I were to put it into a nutshell, I’d say that Hailuo 2.3 is here to meld artistic cinematics with physics-based realism, serving creative and commercial use cases better.
Already accessible via the Pollo AI video generator, I was eager to see all these improvements in action. So, I carried out a few tests of my own to see these changes in action.
And frankly, I have to admit that Hailuo AI has really levelled up!
Testing Hailuo 2.3: Here’s What I Generated
For the first video test, I wanted to see how it animates subtle facial cues across characters.
| Prompt | Output |
| A cinematic close-up of a woman’s face in soft fading light as a man walks away in the blurred distance. Tears fall silently, lips tremble, and her expression shifts from longing to quiet surrender in slow motion. |
My Opinion: I was equally surprised and impressed with this result. The subtle eye press before the tear on her cheek fell, her slightly flaring nostrils, and even how her mouth twitches before that final emotional release. It’s a truly captivating video render that highlights a very powerful scene. Hailuo 2.3 really delivered and without any visual inconsistencies to boot.
For the second test, it’s all about character motion and scene dynamics.
| Prompt | Output |
| A cinematic shot of a woman surfing off the Australian coast at sunrise, riding a powerful ocean wave in a black wetsuit. The camera tracks from a low, dynamic angle as she carves a turn, leaning into the wave. Water moves with realistic fluid dynamics, curling and crashing as she shifts her weight to stay balanced. |
My Opinion: This scene proves Hailuo has improved its motion dynamics. Her turns across the water feel fluid and natural, not to mention her interaction with the water, such as how she rises from under the waves, is quite realistic. The only issue is that the visual fidelity is less focused, probably due to the higher motion demand. In some frames, her features aren’t entirely legible.
For the third test, let’s see how Hailuo 2.3 responds to animated scenes.
| Prompt | Output |
| An animated cinematic of a futuristic steampunk city with intricate machinery and architecture like brass-and-copper skyscrapers, steam-powered vehicles, floating airships, and more. Present the scene with dynamic camera shots of the area to also showcase bustling marketplaces and shadowy workshops. |
My Opinion: I appreciate how the stylistic intent is clearly apparent. From the level of visual detail shown in the buildings, flying machinery, and even smoke chimneys, to the diverse range of colors and neon accents, it’s a very captivating animation. The only main issue is the warping and distortions across the scene that are particularly visible around the background characters.
For the final test, I was curious about its improvements for e-commerce product presentations.
| Prompt | Output |
| A futuristic white shoe with neon glowing lines, floating inside a transparent glass case. The shoe rotates as the camera revolves around it, showing every angle and intricate detail. Minimalistic background, soft ambient lighting, hyper-realistic, cinematic, ultra-detailed. |
My Opinion: Hailuo 2.3 did a phenomenal job with this visual render. You can clearly see every detail of the shoes with the camera covering every angle with perfect motion, clarity, and stability. Even the prompt adherence to the shoe design was on point, showing just how much more useful Hailuo 2.3 can be for e-commerce sellers.
What is My Overall Opinion on Hailuo 2.3?
With Hailuo 2.3, I felt a greater sense of creative control than I ever did with its predecessor. In fact, it feels much more predictable than most other AI video models.
For the most part, the new changes that Hailuo 2.3 has introduced have been clearly effective and evident across all the different scenes. Frankly, I’ve not really been disappointed at all.
The character scenes have more emotional impact. The subject movements are more fluid and realistic. The art styles are more detailed. And the product presentations look far more stable.
However, there are a few kinks to work out, like the matter of degrading fidelity, warping and distortions in certain sequences. Especially when it comes to character renders.
What I noticed was that these issues seem to pop up when the visuals become a little more demanding. So, the more complex and detailed the scene, the more likely there will be gremlins.
But all in all, I believe Hailuo 2.3 is a massive leap forward. It’s definitely worth exploring further, and what better place to do it than on Pollo AI!
